Morar Lodge welcomes self-funded residential and dementia care, Nursing and dementia care, Palliative care and respite care.
Nursing care provides support for residents suffering from a long-term illness or those recovering from an illness. Our 24 hour nursing care is overseen by registered nurses who develop, monitor and review a personal care plan for each resident depending on their medical needs. Nursing care costs will depend on the level of care required.
Residential care refers to long-term care in a residential setting other than the person’s own home. There are various residential care options depending on the needs of the individual, for example, based on their need for mobility assistance. Residential care costs are assessed prior to admission.
It’s a common myth that people needing Palliative Care will need to go to a hospice; we care for people with a terminal illness and those who might be nearing the end of their life and require hospice care, but prefer a more comfortable and homely setting, such as one of our care homes.
We have a holistic approach to palliative and end of life care, supporting both Residents and their loved ones throughout. Our focus is on providing quality of life through upholding and respecting individual choice and delivering effective pain and symptom management to enable Residents to live their last days in a dignified manner.
The care given during this time is entirely focused on the needs and wishes of the individual and their wider support network so that they can all feel as comfortable as possible.
Palliative and terminal care delivery will often include partnership working with community health and social care professionals, local knowledge leaders including Marie Curie, Macmillan and Admiral Nurses and local religious leaders
Respite care is planned or emergency temporary care provided to an individual who is not usually a permanent resident of the care home. It allows non-residents to make use of our facilities for a short period of time, while their carers enjoy some freedom and peace of mind that they are being well-looked after in a safe and social environment. This could also be an opportunity to try out the care home prior to moving in permanently.
Our day care service allows older people, who enjoy the freedom of living in their own home, the company and support during the day and the opportunity to meet people from the local community. Our aim is to help you remain active and independent, and provide a friendly environment where you can relax, socialise and enjoy yourself whilst boosting your confidence and developing your skills through stimulating activities.
After a fall, acute illness, or operation many older people benefit from rest and rehabilitation in a caring, safe, and reassuring environment. Our homes that offer Intermediate Care give people time to recover and rebuild their confidence until they are ready to return home or choose the next steps for their care.
Our highly trained nurses and carers work closely with specialised multi-disciplinary support teams to work with patients to set joint goals and get them back home and living independently as soon as possible or preparing them for a move into a care home on a more permanent basis.
