We accept both private and local authority funded residents. Funding is granted following a financial assessment to determine whether you are eligible for help. Additionally, you may be able to pay a top-up fee on top of any local authority funding. Self-funding residents should inform the Manager as soon as they suspect they may face issues with future payments in order to discuss the best course of action and allow sufficient time for making applications to funding bodies.

All of your accommodation costs are included in the weekly fee. Any extras, including hairdresser, chiropodist, personal newspapers, toiletries, staff escorts, transport to hospital by taxi, etc. will be invoiced on a monthly basis (a full list is available on request).

We understand that care needs can change over time and we can offer residential and nursing care at Morar Lodge. All Care Plans are regularly reviewed and, if there is evidence to support a change in clinical needs, any additional cost will be discussed and agreed with the relevant parties.

Your room comes fully furnished, although you are welcome to bring your own small items of furniture. We are unable to accept responsibility for items that are lost or damaged, unless, in the unlikely event we have not taken reasonable security precautions at the home. If it is important to have these items with you, you should arrange suitable contents insurance.

We aim to help our residents have an independent and fulfilling life. You are free to go out of the care home whenever you wish, for example, to go shopping, a walk in the park or visit a place of worship, etc. Should you wish to be away overnight, we will simply need to fill in a “Temporary Absence Form” and ensure you have everything needed for your trip. Additionally, we can assist with organising your transport or providing a chaperone where possible.

We do not have set visiting hours. Friends and family are allowed to visit at any time as long as government guidelines for infection control are followed.

We believe in honest and open communication and take feedback seriously whether it being good or bad. Depending on what you would like to share, you can talk to a member of staff or management, who can direct you to the correct person. For example, our activity coordinators would be happy to hear your ideas about new activities or trips. Should you wish to express any concerns, we also have a complaints procedure if needed.

It is a policy of Morar Lodge that staff are not allowed to be involved in the personal affairs of our residents and therefore should not be named in a resident’s will. Furthermore, staff are not allowed to help our residents with drawing up a will, or acting as witness or executor to the estat

Whilst we acknowledge the fact that many people have pets for company during their lifetime and that they may wish to bring an animal with them when they move in, the management has a responsibility to all the residents with regards to Health and Safety, therefore pets cannot live permanently at the Morar Lodge. However, you may request a pet to come in with a visitor for a short period of time.

Smoking is only allowed in the designated smoking areas outside the care home’s building. All rooms are fitted with smoke detectors, therefore under no circumstances should anyone smoke inside the care home.

We have few larger rooms and residents can choose to share a  large room with a spouse ,partner , sibling or of their preference.

This should be organised with a local phone provider by yourself or your relative and the contract would be in your name. We have a dedicated residents’ phone line for incoming calls with a cordless phone which is taken to rooms to ensure you can enjoy conversations with your friends and relatives in privacy.

We can help you arrange any newspaper or magazine subscriptions you wish to receive at your own cost. Additionally, the home receives the local newspaper on a regular basis and this is available in the communal areas. Incoming post is distributed by the staff on the day of delivery.
